Kevin Patrick Dobson
Kevin Dobson served in the U.S. Army as an MP during the Vietnam era. Dobson was presented the PR Award from the American Legion in 1991 for his efforts as chairman of the National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans both in 1989 and 1990. We all remember the theme and slogan used - "If you love your country, thank a vet" He also hosted two Veterans Inaugural Balls, one for PresidentBill Clinton and one for President George Bush. Dobson received the Silver Helmet Award, an award given by AMVETS, recognizing excellence and outstading accomplishments in the fields of Americanism, Defense, Rehabilitation, Congressional and Civil Service. This award has become known as the "Veteran's Oscar." Kevin took his responsibilities to our veterans very seriously, always with a kind word and a smile.
We keep a photo in our office of Pink Lady, (in red as Mrs. Claus) and me (in the Santa suit) with Tom Fick (project Hollywood Cares founder) and Kevin Dobson taken in 2016 at the Wadsworth VA Hospital in West LA at a "Gift for a Yank" distribution program. Kevin never missed; he is standing directly behind the Pink Lady.

We are saddened yet proud to announce that this successful 21 Free Meals each week program was renamed : The Kevin Dobson Memorial JWV Post 420. We lost our dear friend September 6th, SAG/AFTRA actor and Army veteran, activist Kevin Dobson. We are honored to be able to re-name this program The Kevin Dobson Memorial Food to Life Program. Kevin was very important in our veteran community and to seniors through SAG?AFTRA. He was also an active patron of our Tibor Rubin JWV Post 786, that I founded and served as Charter Commander. He was very active and participated every Christmas in our Jewish War Veterans "Gift for a Yank" program, started in 1946 by Eddie Cantor.
Special gratitude to former Air Force Chaplain, Rabbi Ari Montanari, for his tireless efforts to create and bring this Free Food Program to fruition.
May Kevin's memory be a Blessing for us all.
